The Division of Chemistry and the Law (CHAL) is currently accepting papers and symposia for the 238th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society, to be held August 16-20, 2009 in Washington, DC. CHAL welcomes submissions both for multi-speaker sessions and individual oral presentations, on all legal topics impacting the chemical sciences.
CHAL also welcomes potential opportunities to collaborate with symposia organizers from other ACS divisions in planning and presenting both oral and poster sessions. CHAL typically presents a variety of half- and full-day symposia at ACS National Meetings. For example, CHAL's program at the 234th National Meeting in Boston included 51 oral presentations organized into 13 sessions, spanning 5 days. Papers and symposia may encompass topics related to intellectual property, patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, contract law, employment law, professional ethics and liability, product liability, tort law, expert witnesses, chemical consulting, chemical health and safety, chemical information, forensic chemistry, food and drug law, regulatory law, administrative law and rule making, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, licensing and technology transfers, environmental safety, and litigation. Please submit abstracts for individual presentations or Sci-Mix posters for the upcoming Washington Meeting on the ACS Online Abstract Submittal System at http://oasys.acs.org/acs/236nm/oasys.htm. For submission of half-day or full-day symposia with multiple speakers, please contact one of our Program Co-Chairs, Ali Ahmed and Jay Brown. Ali Ahmed can be reached at Ali.Ahmed@finnegan.com, and Jay Brown can be reached at jaybrownlaw@gmail.com. Please note that the deadline for all CHAL submissions for the Washington Meeting is rapidly approaching. Additionally, if you are interested in organizing or speaking at a CHAL session during an upcoming ACS Regional Meeting, or if you are interested in assisting the CHAL Executive Committee in planning and coordinating upcoming programming, please contact Ali Ahmed or Jay Brown at the above addresses. |
